¡Por fin! Ya está aquí la última página de Flores de otras épocas, ¡Qué emoción! Creí que este día nunca llegaría, y sinceramente empezaba a aburrirme de dibujar niñas pelirrojas y viejos calveras... jeje. Ahora solo me toca hacer un retoque general, cambiar algunas ilustraciones (que más adelante iré colgando en el blog) y añadir el maravilloso texto. Soy feliz, y estoy especialmente ansiosa por empezar a dibujar... OTRAS cosas. Un abrazo a todos los que os seguís pasando por aquí...

Finally! the last page of Flores de otras épocas is here, I´m so excited! I thought this day will never come, and honestly I was starting to get bored of drawing ginger girls and bold grandpas... Now it only needs a general make over, change a few illustrations (I will upload them on the blog later on) and add the wonderful text. I´m happy, and particularly looking forward to start drawing... Ya tenemos aquí la página 13, y con esta solo quedan 4 para terminar el cuento! me muero de ganas de verlo terminado, la verdad... Los más avispados habrán visto que he introducidos algunos cambios en Antón, el viejo colega de Lucinda, pero es que quiero darle un repaso a las ilustraciones en las que aparece y me apetecía hacerlo más caricaturesco, ¿Qué os parece? Gracias de nuevo por pasaros!

We´ve got page 13 already with us, and now there are only 4 left to finish the story! I´m dying to see it finished, to be honest… The observant ones will realize I made some changes in Anton, Lucinda´s old friend, I want to review the illustrations in which he shows up and I wanted to give him an edge, what do you think? Página 12 del cuento y cambio de look del blog, que ya era hora. Intento desesperadamente ponerme al día con los dibujos y conmigo misma, pero creo que nunca había inventado tantas maneras de perder el tiempo... Pero como en un mes voy a empezar a trabajar dando clases (esta vez de diseño gráfico), más me vale aprovechar estos últimos días antes de que mi vida sea un caos al completo. ¿Lograré acabar el cuento antes de navidad? Sería el mejor regalo que podría hacerme a mi misma...

Page 12 of the story, and new look on the blog, it was about time. I´m desperately trying to get up to date with my drawings and myself. I believe I´ve never made up so many ways of losing my time before… In about a month I will start teaching again (graphic design this time), so I better make the most of these last few days before my life becomes a complete chaos. Will I finish the story by Christmas? It would be the best present I could give myself.

El hada del Verano (Definitiva)

Aunque el verano ya queda muy lejos, he estado dando algunos retoques y probando a jugar con el color con esta hadita. Espero que me haya quedado mejor que antes. ¡Próximamente el hada del Otoño!

Even though Summer is already far away, I´ve been playing with colours and giving her some final touches. I hope she looks better than before. Soon the Autumn Fairy will follow!

¡El hada del Verano!

El hada del verano se pasa el día durmiendo, es muy despistada y muchos veranos olvida pasarse por regiones enteras para llevarles el buen tiempo. Le encanta tomarse cocktails de lo más refinados y su escritora favorita es Jane Austen. Por mucho que lo intenta no logra llevarse bien con el Hada de la Primavera, quizás porque se pasa el día recalcando que el Verano mola mucho más que la Primavera... Está bastante cegarata, por eso, su objeto preferido son sus gafas.

The Summer Fairy spends her days sleeping, she is very absent-minded  and many summers she forgets to visit whole regions to bring them good weather. She loves to drink posh cocktails and her favourite writer is Jane Austen. As much as she tries to, she doesn´t get along with the Spring Fairy, maybe because she is always pointing out that Summer is way cooler than Spring…  She is pretty shortsighted so her favourite object are her glasses

¡Por fin este cuento avanza! Ya pasé el ecuador, aquí nuestra protagonista buscando las flores de Verano, difíciles de encontrar y cultivar...! Aún le daré algún retoque más, pero ahora mejor seguir adelante

Finally the story is moving on! I´m already halfway through the tale, with our main character searching for the Summer flowers, the hardest to find and cultivate...!

¡¡¡Viernes!!!

¡Aún no estoy muerta! No sé porqué me empeño en imaginar que en Verano voy a dibujar mucho y a trabajar sin parar cuando luego en realidad durante todos los veranos año tras año me dedico a vaguear y a hacer el pánfilo. Cuanto más tiempo tengo menos hago, ¡Es un hecho! Aún así, intento ponerle fin a toda esta vagonería con el nuevo dibujo de la semana, ¡Por fin llega el Viernes! ¡La chica de pelo naranja de va de fiesta a disfrutar del comienzo del fin de semana!

I´m not dead yet! I don´t know why I keep imagining that during the summer I´m going to draw a lot and  to work all the time when in fact every summer I tend to be lazy and enjoy it. Even so, I´m trying to put an end to my lazyness with the new drawing of the week, Friday is finally here! The girl of red hair is going  out to enjoy the beginning of the weekend!

I´m finally starting to understand illustrator! Cingo is a character of the new story i´m into, he is a holder of magic ande he is neither good nor bad...

Nequitia

Este es Nequitia, es una manes, un alma de los muertos, viven cerca de ríos o arroyos, son inmortales, adoran las fresas y se sienten muy atraídos por la magia. No los encontraréis por nuestro mundo.  Nequitia es el inseparable compañero de la protagonista de mi nuevo cuento. Sí, lo sé, todavía no he terminado el último, pero me apetecía ir probando cosas nuevas entre ilustración e ilustración. Será el verano... ¡Hacía tanto que no pintaba que ya no sabía ni como se cogía el pincel...! 

This is Netiquia, she is a manes, a soul of the dead, they usually live close to a river or a stream, they are immortal,  they love strawberries and they feel very attracted to magic. You will not find them in our world. Netiquia is the inseparable companion of my new story´s main character. Yes, I know, I still haven´t finished my last story, but I fancied to try new things between illustrations. It must be the summer… It´s been so long since I last painted that I barely remembered how to hold the paintbrush!

La multiculturalidad a través del cine

Aquí traigo por fin el último trabajo para el master que estoy haciendo. Es un pequeño video sobre el tema que estuve dando a los chavales del instituto: La multiculturalidad a través del cine. Las películas que aparecen son Babel, Todo está iluminado, Memorias de una Geisha, Slumdog Millonaire  y una de mis películas preferidas y constante en todos mis vides: Lost in translation. ¡Muchas gracias por vuestro tiempo!

Dentro de una semana por fin seré libre del trabajo de investigación educativa en el que estoy metida, y por fin volveré a ser una persona normal, con tiempo libre para socializar y dibujar aunque sea a ratos. Necesito que le de un poco el sol a mi cara, porque me estoy quedado con tez fantasmal de tanto trabajar. En fin, ahí os dejo un fondo de escritorio de un panda entrado en años. Espero que os guste, yo por mi parte ¡Adoro los osos panda!

In a week´s time I will finally finish my essay on educational research, and can get officially back to being a normal person, with time off to socialize and draw. I need some sun on my skin, since I´m starting to look like a ghost from so much working indoors. This is  my panda wallpaper, he is an slightly old panda. I hope you like it, I absolutely adore pandas!!

Multiculturalidad

Se van acabando las prácticas, y a mis alumnos de imagen con los que estoy trabajando la multiculturalidad les he hecho un mundo para que lo llenen de sus experiencias. Ese mundo está truncado, hay países mucho más grandes que otros porque son del lugar donde proceden o simplemente porque les gustan más...¡Espero que la profesora de geografía no me mate! En fin, ahí va el proceso de creación del mapa gigante con acrílicos y lo bien que nos lo pasamos en clase completándolo...

Y ahora, visto que el hilo rosa tiene algún visitante de habla no española, va también en inglés, con la inestimable ayuda de una verdadera especialista (Gracias, Rebe!), of course...

My training period as a teacher is coming to an end, so I´ve painted a special world for my students of Image and Expression, so they can fill it with their experiences. This world is imperfect, there are countries much bigger than they ought to be, just because it´s where they are from, or because they like them best. They had to paint, write and imagine their experiences and then explain why a multicultural world is so important. This is the creative process, I think we all enjoyed it a lot!
